SlopShield

The YouTube filter that hides AI-generated videos — so your feed is made by humans again.

Your feed is being flooded

AI-generated videos are cheap to mass-produce. Channels now upload them by the dozen: narrated listicles, fake "documentaries", recycling content with synthetic voices. YouTube's own disclosure labels depend on creators being honest. They aren't.

"Half my feed or suggestions are AI crap. There's an endless amount of channels and videos that are entirely AI generated. I would pay for this more than I do for Premium." — Hacker News comment, May 2026 (about AI-filtering YouTube)

FAQ

How accurate is it?

We target >90% precision on the top 3 slop categories at launch; false positives are reversible and reviewed. Accuracy is the whole product — we publish our benchmarks.

What about real channels that use AI tools?

We flag mass-produced AI content, not a human creator using AI for captions or thumbnails. Channels you trust can be whitelisted permanently.

Why paid when free extensions exist?

Free tools like AiSList/AiBlock (20k+ channel blocklist, fully open source) do a great job at blocking KNOWN slop channels. SlopShield adds what a blocklist can't: per-video detection (hybrid channels get filtered too, not just blacklisted ones), a confidence score with reasons, and a whitelist. The subscription pays for keeping the detector trained against new generation models — the part that decays fastest.

Which browsers?

Chrome first (Manifest V3), Firefox to follow.
